Diva does… The Bread Street Brasserie

Last week I was invited along to the relaunch of the Bread Street Brasserie (the new name for the restaurant at The Point Hotel).

Along with 3 friends I went along and had a lovely lunch.

As you can see above, it has a light airy brasserie look with a cosmopolitan European look. It’s glass-fronted (with frosting to protect from nosey passers-by) so the light is wonderful, even in on Edinburgh Winter’s day.

I went for warm wild mushroom and leek tartlet to start. It was very good. The pastry was excellent and the mushroom and leek filling tasty and moist.

Some of my companions opted for the salmon which was also good and complemented beautifully by baby beets, horseradish and crème fraîche.

The mains delighted too. Apparently the sea bass was a hit. It was served with organic rocket, asparagus salad and salsa verde.

I went for the supreme of chicken which suited my tastes perfectly. It was very well seasoned with mouth-wateringly good gravy. Mmmmm.

The Point special offers at the moment which are incredibly good value. Please contact the restaurant for details.

Excellent service and good food at a great price. We’ll definitely go back.

After lunch we were shown around the Sky Bar at The Point Hotel. A lovely space and what amazing views of Edinburgh Castle! Love it!

  1. I can well believe the above comment. My wife and I first came to the point last year (Jan), and again in Aug. The staff were very friendly, and Nick from F.O. was absolutely brilliant and very helpful to us both-attitudes like that, was our main motive for returning again, and we will return in the future! Besides……so much to see in your wonderful city! So, to Nick and co: Thanks again for making our stay confy, and watch out-we plan another attack/invasion sometime soon! 🙂

  2. Thanks so much for leaving a comment. Get in touch when you’re back in Edinburgh.
